Stinking Service
What a terrible, stinking and shameless service from VW Ermelo. On Friday 23 July 2019, VW Assist towed my vehicle (2018 VW Polo 1.0) to VW Ermelo for engine coolant leak. I was told their turnaround time was 24-48 hours and that my car can only be attended to on Tuesday. Fast forward to Tuesday, no update whatsoever, until I called them in the afternoon only for them to tell me they are still busy with the car. At 17:00 they call back telling me it would cost R16 200 to change the radiator. I asked for the diagnosis report which I never got but only just the invoice. On the invoice they added that the car must go for 90 000km service yet the car only has 13 589 Kms on the clock. I ask the guy named Billy why are they charging me for 90 000 km service while the car is not even due for its first service. He said they made a mistake. He then tells me the under engine cover is missing yet it was here when the car was towed. After that, I told them to replace the radiator only and don’t touch anything else. They get back to me the following day telling me they do not have parts, which they must order and will arrive within 48 hours. After 48 hours I call to check on the progress, the guy changes his story, all of a sudden he say 3 business days. I then ask for a courtesy vehicle so that I can run my errands since I’m based in Durban. I hear them talking on the side and the manager refusing aggressively to give me a courtesy vehicle. For 7 full days, my car remained with them and absolutely nothing was done on the car and yet they will not provide a courtesy vehicle to compensate me for this.
Anyone who is thinking of taking their car to VW ermelo, please save yourself the headache! They are a bunch of rude and *********** people who will most likely damage your car instead!
