Extremely Terrible Service
On 12 Jan 2022 my car was booked at VW Barons Edwin Swales for diagnosis and repairs. The car was jerking and displaying EPC and Engine warning lights. Firstly, I was never told who my service advisor was. I never received any updates regarding progress on the vehicle throughout the day. Only at 16:15 did someone call me to inform me that I will not be getting my car back on the day - I was already at their premises to collect my car by then. I had to arrange my own transport at such short notice! They told me they found Carbon buildup on the injectors and would need to flush and replace seals - which would take a full week. I then made a request for a courtesy car since I needed to be mobile, to which I was told the Service manager was off site and I needed to come back the next day. On Thursday 13 Jan 22 I went back to VW using a friend's car, and the Service Manager Cliffy Govender told me they don't have any cars but he will let me know as soon as he has some cars returned, which never materialized. I called Cliffy again on Friday 14 Jan 22, still he said he doesn't have loan cars but he will call me as soon as he does. Again on Saturday morning I phoned and told him I desperately needed a car so I could take my child to school the next week, he said he would make a plan the next Monday but never contacted me again. I eventually borrowed a car by my own means so that my child would go to school on Monday 17 Jan. On the same day I went to VW Barons to get the child car seat from my car, and enquired on the progress of the car, to which I was told I should have the car by Friday 21 Jan. I still didn't see my service advisor and the service manager just ignored me. Marleney attended to me and promised that she would give me frequent updates, but that never materialized. Today is the 21st Jan 22, I still haven't received any updates regarding my vehicle, nor have I received a call from Cliffy regarding the courtesy car. Since the 12th Jan I have never heard from my service advisor who is supposedly Zandile Hlubi. I find their service to be terrible and feel they couldn't careless about me as a paying customer and needs of my family. They sure know how to show that you're not valued and they make you feel it! I am also worried that my car won't be fixed up to standard because when I asked what is causing the Carbon build up, no one had the answer - they are merely fixing the symptom rather than the root cause - this makes me question the competence of technicians working on my car. I have been with VW since 2009, perhaps it's time to try a different brand.
