POOR SERVISE AND TROUBLESHOOTING/DIAGNOSIS (FH0)

To whom it may concern,

I called VW acardia to explain my issue with my car not releasing key after switching it off and they said it's ignition and I must bring it in to get repaired.

Took the car in and they ran an ignition diagnosis which they say costs R1800. They then sent a quote to my warranty to get approval to fix the car and warranty said it doesn't cover the damaged component.

They then sent me a quote saying it is a gear mechanism lever that is broken, not the ignition. But now I was forced to pay for the R1800 for ignition which they said it was the one broken while it was not and rather the gear mechanism lever, which I said I can't pay for a component that was not damaged as they say it was as they could have done a proper troubleshooting.

How does ignition diagnosis cost more than the car diagnosis which cover almost all components in the car and ignition juts one component?
