Claim Dispute And Rude Broker ***

VUM insurance offers a very terrible service, I signed up with them last year for my car that is in e-hailing. When I was signing up I was advised to get a tracking unit(no special features advised) fitted in the car, which I agreed on and the broker then transferred me to agents of Cartrack to assist with that. I signed up to Cartrack with the package that the agent advised and the unit was fitted, I then sent the installation certificate as required. I was also advised that I have to do a vehicle inspection, which I did at Tiger Wheel and Tyre and the people at Tiger wheel sent it to them and myself. The excess was explained to me except for the basic excess that must be paid if you had a code C1 licence at the time of an accident.

Based on the information provided by the broker, I was comfortable with the information provided.

It is only now at claim stage that I have learned that my tracking unit needs to have telematics (to meet claim requirements), that they never received any vehicle inspection for the car and that I have to pay an excess if I'm driving with a code C1 licence. Why would I agree on a policy that doesn't cover my licence? Does the law not allow code C1 driver to drive private vehicles?

They are charging me excess for a telematic device, code C1 licence and not providing the vehicle inspection, on top of that they're dragging they're feet with processing the claim. At the moment I'm losing income because of this slow pathetic service. I do not really understand why this is a business insurance policy because all they do is to inconvenience my business.

The broker that I have been dealing with is never available, and when I do get ahold of him he gives me attitude and never explains anything to me in professional manner. I am disgusted with VUM and you people want to rip me off! I want someone who knows what they doing to fix this mess and do whats right. The broker advised me that they need to go and listen to the calls which it will take 5 to 7 business working days, so again I need to wait for an explanation for another week or so!!!

You guys are in a business of inconveniencing business and not paying claims!!!!
