Con Men!

Con men! We took our Honda s****** for a service and to check the drive belt. Shane the manager quoted us R1400 for a belt and said he gets a discount so we can get it cheaper at R1100.

I decided just to phone Honda in Tygervalley to confirm the price and to my surprise they said that the belt only costs R350! When I confronted Shane about this he got very defensive and mentioned that he needs to mark up the item to cover his costs (R750 markup is steep!) He said he needs to fetch the part and that costs petrol. I could understand them charging R200 for petrol (and Honda says they deliver parts anyway!) Every bike shop gets parts delivered on a regular basis.

They have also stopped using card machines.. cash only now which is also suspicious.
