Vrentals - Very quick to inconvenience customers when it suits them.

Vrentals is a rental company based in Durban that allows you to own vehicles on a rent to own basis. Now this company is mainly for people who are blacklisted, have low credit scores or are under debt review & are always turned down by the banks. I took a Toyota Avanza with them in March 2021 with an installment arrangement of R7800.00 per month, in 2022 my finances took a hard knock & I had a problem making the payment for a month, the car was taken from me & I was told that it would be held in safekeeping until I can make payments, on the 3rd month after this I was told that I have to make a payment of R30000.00 which I did, thereafter I was told that my car was not available as they had given it to another customer, so Vrentals got paid twice for 1 car as they received the R30000.00 I paid and the money paid by the customer they gave my car to.

After an uphill battle & them trying to give me a manual car when I drive an automatic vehicle due to medical reasons, they then issued me with an automatic VW Polo which I insisted continues on the plan of the Avanza as they were the ones who gave it away, which they eventually agreed to, hesitantly.

I was then made to pay an amount of R13500 for body repairs on my vehicle due to the fact that they saw dents & scratches when I took it in for inspections, which I paid as an additional R2000 on top of my normal installment which had been reduced to R5300 since they gave away my Avanza & gave me a Polo. I completed those payments in November 2023 and when they took my car for "repairs", they kept it for an entire week without doing any work on it whatsoever until I asked them to return it and call me when they are able to actually work on the car.

I called them on the 7th of March 2025 to enquire when they plan on doing the repairs on my car as they have already made me pay for same, I was told to bring it in on the 10th of March 2025 & it would take a week & a half to complete, which I did, I have been trying to get a report on the progress of the repairs and have been getting the runaround from them as management is now unavailable to speak to me and the consultant that originally spoke to me is constantly unavailable now after I got told by the consultant that they need a further 2 weeks which I responded to by telling them that I made arrangements for the one & a half weeks they told me the repairs on the car will take & when I told them that they should provide me with a courtesy car as they are the ones who are delaying the return of my car, they blatantly told me that my only option is to hire a car from them, so they want me to pay them two times this month, my normal installment & the vehicle that they say I must hire from them.

Vrentals comes to you under the pretense of helping you, yet they try to ***** you over every chance they get, I speak from experience, I can't wait to be done with them as this month is my last installment.
