Losing faith in Volvo

I bought a Volvo XC60 demo for my wife in 2019 with very low mileage of just under 10,000. From the that this car has had endless problems and wondering whether volvo has got the expertise to fix this car. Last in 2021 the car was at the dealership for 7 months and in that 7 months were promises after promises that it will be ready next and then its next month and so on till finally we were told they had ordered a new engine which also took a month to fit from the time when we were told the engine had arrived. In April 2022 took it for a service and the following day the car failed to move and just a lot of smoke coming out, the tow truck picked up the car on the road side as i had tried to take it to the dealership. Its now 6 weeks already without a courtesy car for a car that am paying for every month. What are my options? Does volvo know what they are doing? or are we being taken advantage of?
