Disappointed VW car owners
First of all, as new car owner buyers, this is not the experience that we thought we would have. We send the car in for a funny noise on the steering and the wipers were hard as well. Early morning, at about 7 o clock, we already took the car in. When eventually we arrived back at N1 City at about 3 or 4 in the afternoon, they still didn't look at the car, didn't even replace wipers.. As time was limited, we then had to take the car back without ANY service done and had to book the car in AGAIN. The second time around, we booked car in and they eventually said that the steering rack (column) was faulty which was a mechanical problem.. Let me state that the car was not even 6 months old. They had to order a part and it would take days to ship it which we understood, but then requested a courtesy car as we needed transportation to go to work. After struggling to finally get a courtesy car, we realised that the petrol tank was basically empty standing on 15 km.. We gave our car with a full tank. We had to buy petrol not only for a week, but almost 2 weeks as our car took that long. They didn't even offer to reimburse us!! We had to constantly phone to get an update. Communication was not adequate and service overall was lacking! Lastly, our car was "fixed" aparantly just to find out that as we drive, the steering wheel keeps on going to the left. This is a secondary problem, because IF they have done the job correctly the first time, this wouldn't of happened. We recently booked it in for this problem (12 Oct). Not only for the steering problem, but our car also gave a warning for an oil service which was weird as we only bought the car in December. Its not even a year old. Monday, again... I had to phone to ask how far the car was just to find out they didn't even start working on the car although we took the car in at 7 in the morning. At around 3 in the afternoon, we went to VW, then they only started with our car.. We had to wait more than 30-40 minutes. Time management is definitely not good. Our oil service wasn't reset, aparantly the car was on the floor in OCT already that is why it is picking up a service, but our mileage on car is only at 6000 km... Overall, we are not satisfied with the experience at all and won't recommend VW to anyone!! We wish we could give car back and go to another dealership...
