Claremont Volkswagen Discriminates.

Had the worst experience buying a new vehicle. Ran with finance through my own personal banker Mercantile Bank of Lisbon. Contract signed release note sent plus proof of payment. Go to collect my vehicle as approved by Sales Manager and my Salesman(whose service was impeccable) to be told on my arrival at the dealership by the same sales manager that they can not release the vehicle until the money reflects in their account. He informed me that our bank does not fall under the same umbrella as FNB, Standard Bank and Absa and that they do not usually deal with our bank so the money must first reflect. I was informed after calling several Volkswagen dealerships across Cape Town that this is unheard of and not the normal process. The release note is supposed to be sufficient for the car to be released. This was completely unacceptable and I felt heavily discriminated against based on me not banking with South African banks. Do not put yourself through this same heartache as purchasing a new vehicle should be a good experience.
