Broken Air-conditioner

On Thursday 31 January 2019 i took my car in for an oil change service, to Claremont Volkswagen in Cape Town. Before the service my air conditioning was working, however upon taking delivery of the car, i noticed that the function was only blowing warm air and that my aircon vent was broken. I observed this the following day as well and realized that it had stopped working. I called the dealer to notify them of the issue, but could not take the car in as i had to be in Johannesburg from Friday the 1st of February to Monday the 4th. Upon my return to Cape Town on the 4th of February I logged a call to the establishment report the issue to my service adviser Jo-Ann Rautenbach, who was unavailable at the time. I managed to book the car in on Tuesday 5 February 2019, for the 11th.

On the 11 February, my car was assessed and i was then informed by Jo-Ann Rautenbach that the dealer will not take responsibility of the damages sustained. I then went to the dealer and had a meeting with the former and her general service manager, Russell Robertson, who further emphasized that they would not take responsibility, and gave me a quote for the repairs.

I previously had a similar issue with the said establishment in 2018, when I had taken my car in for an oil change service on the 5th June 2018. In this incident, my car had sustained a dent on its rear which was not reported to me upon collection of the car.Upon arrival at home that day i noticed the visible dent and logged a call the morning of the 6th June 2018 and my car was booked in for repairs.

In addition to all of this, the dealer pasted a sticker on my rear window for advertising purposes, without my consent, of which I do not approve!

This is the second time I have had to deal with the results of the negligence of Claremont Volkswagen having possession of my car for service purposes. Therefore I would like to escalate this complaint for further scrutiny and resolution.
