TERRIBLE - VM Events Vincent Manning Party equipment hire (slushi popcorn candy floss machine)

<div>VM events operates out of Grassy Park Cape Town and hires party equipment like popcorn, slushi and candy floss machines. I am sharing my experience so other people are aware of his behaviour. I hired a slushi machine from him (he advertises his business on Facebook Marketplace) and arranged for a friend to collect it from him. Up till the invoice was sent, communication was great and prompt. After I sent the proof of payment (in full) then his true colours started to show and the shenanigans started. The machine arrived and was in terrible condition and important Parts of it were broken, cracked or filthy and unhygienic. There was black mould growing inside the taps. The motors and associated mechanisms kept slipping and would often seize rendering the machine non useable. It was also leaking out a lot from all the broken pieces in the barrels. He also sent the wrong slushi flavours - despite me confirming multiple times what I would like and paid for. Upon inspection of the machine on arrival at my home that evening (1 hr till my event) I immediately called Vincent to inform him of my disappointment and dissatisfaction. Vincent became verbally abusive and extremely rude to me. He accused me of “moaning over nothing” and told me I Must bring the machine back and he’ll return my money. This was definitely not a possibility 1hr from my event and having to drive 2hrs return trip to get to his premises. We tried to make the machine work as best as we can under the circumstances but it was in such bad condition that we were extremely concerned that using it would damage the motors further - so we aborted mid way through our event. A handle on one side re-broke along an existing bad repair - it was near impossible not to break again as the repair was so terrible - and I had told Vincent that I was worried that things are going to break again. All in all this was a terrible experience and I want to warn people of the risk of using Vincent and his services. He continues to be abusive and aggressive via whatsapp and refuses to take any accountability for his actions and ********* behaviour.</div>
