Poor Customer Service
I have been a member at the Fourways Crossing branch for almost 2 years (started in March 2019) and was a member previously for around a year in 2016 and left because I moved away.
Needless to say that I had the worst experience ever in the branch yesterday. I had lost my tag to enter the Gym and I had come in on 3rd Jan 2021 to pay for a new tag/card. I was greeted by a very bored looking lady at reception (she was the only one wearing a black shirt, there was also a guy there wearing a red/orange shirt).
I informed the lady at reception that I had lost my tag and needed to purchase a new one, she asked me if I had used my 3 overrides. I told her no because I was under the impression they reset each month as there had been times earlier in the year when I had forgotten my tag and was allowed in and then the next time I'd forget it I would override again.
This time I entered my phone number and the the lady says "Ahhhhhhh my guy you've used all your overrides, now I'm going to have to do it this way..." Very unprofessional in my own opinion and she makes it sound like its such an inconvenience for her to do her job.
Anyway, she lets me in, the interaction left a sour taste in my mouth. I tried to buy the card from the vending machine. Tried to use my cheque card to pay and it kept throwing an error and then I tried my credit card and the machine kept saying "Not Enough Credit". I decided to try buy it later after my workout since I was in anyway.
After my workout I decided I never wanted to come back to the gym purely based on the interaction I had with the lady at reception. I asked to be let out and she said something to the guy wearing the orange shirt in an African language, but I clearly heard the word "Card" and I knew she was talking about me, I told her that I would have purchased a new card if your machine was working, she replies "How, the machine is working as many people have purchased cards and tags today". Like its my card that's the problem...
Regardless I will not be returning to Viva Gym.
