Membership cancellation

Good morning

I joined viva gym on a month to month membership. Terms and conditions were explained to me and I was told I could cancel at anytime. After they explained I asked if I could go to all their gyms and I was told that I would have to pay I higher premium. At no point was I told that now meant I was on a twelve month membership and was subject to a cancellation fee. When I went to cancel only then did I know about the difference between a month to month and 12 months and which plan was not on a month to month.

When I went to cancel all they told me was I signed the contract, even though the person that signed me up told me I could cancel at anytime. They refused to help me despite what I explained, the gave me an email address ********** which I have not received a reply from and was threatend about what affect it would have on my credit record if I stopped paying
