Company wont refund us even thought they ****!!!

My husband and I went to the Pavillion shopping centre this past weekend to shop for a leather handbag. we specifically wanted a leather bag and there were a few sale items we were interested in as it suited our price range. we saw a pringle handbag at Vittorio and asked the salesman if he can confirm that the bag was leather as we were only looking to purchase a leather bag. he confirmed explicitly in the presense of his colleagues that it was. I like another bag as well and the salesman even went so far as to say the other wasnt leather and I shouldnt consider that one but rather purchase the one we initially looked at. when we got home and emptied out the stuffing the tag confirmed that the bag was infact polyutherane and not leather. we tried returning it but the store didnt have anything else suitably priced and therefore we could not do an exchange. after looking around in all of their surrounding branches we found nothing in the correct price range and explained had the salesman not **** we ould have purchased an alternate item and a neighbouring store for the same price and would prefer a refund to secure the item. the store will not accomodate us.
