I followed a link on the internet to a website that appeared to be a legitimate website for a popular woman's magazine with an article on a product that offered a free trial sample of a product. You paid via the internet for the shipping only. Foolishly I entered my account details and authorised the payment of the shipping fees as disclosed by the company. 4-6 weeks later, I had two payments to the tune of R2500 taken from my bank account which I had not authorised. I had to cancel my bank card to prevent further unauthorised transactions. Another 2 weeks later I received the products and was able to contact the call center which informed me that had I read the hidden terms and conditions, I would have noticed that I was actually signing up for a 12 month subscription for their product. I admit, I was foolish to believe the claims on their website, but I am an honest and trusting person. I have returned their product for refund (we'll see if that actually happens), but I will not be refunded the R500 or so I have paid to receive and return the products, not to mention the inconvenience of having to cancel my card card and now not being able to use my internet and cellphone banking
