Damaged Lenses

My wife and I have been customers with them for many years now and end of last year I bought a new frame as mine broke. The lenses were kept as there was very little to take off for the fitment and on receiving them back, the technician damaged the inner and outer anti-glare on the lenses. The mechanism used to hold the lenses are still visible on it. When I went to try to sort out the issue, I was told that nothing could be done and also that my lenses are three years old so it was time for new ones. My issue with this is, it’s not just a fact of getting new ones but the way in how the manner was “resolved”. Lenses are expensive and if my lenses don’t need to be replaced, why do I have to? All I wanted was just to fix this but like I said, according to them, my lenses ate to old and now I look quite ridiculous with these lenses. I always ask the question, what would you have done if you are in this situation? They only said sorry, nothing can be done on the old ones. At least, replace/pay for the anti-glare then!!
