The cruelity of Virgin Insurance
VRG ********** 028
On 22 March 2018 at around 08:00 I was driving at Morris Street, when my car ( BMW e90 320d) engine stops. It was heavily raining on that day. I tried to start the car but the car would just crack but won’t start. I contacted my insurance Virgin where they tow my car to a workshop.
On 23 March 2018 I received a call from Dzunde Auto solution the saying that computer box has water. I contacted my insurance to lodge a claim since this is a natural disaster. I managed to register a claim on Monday 26 March 2018. On 27 March I received a call from Nico of who informed me that he will send his assessors to inspect the car at the workshop where my car wa. I was informed by the workshop manager that the inspectors inspected the car on 28 March 2018. I did not receive a report in respect of the inspection done by the assessors.
I then receive a call from Nico who informed me that he will uplift my car to Virgin accredited repairer. My car was only towed to Savannah Coach Works in Pretoria West on 06 April 2018. It was assessed and it was discovered that the computer box (DME) had water on it.
On the 3rd of May 2018 47 day after the incident my car was taken to Club Motors Fountains, where the report came out saying that they do not see any evidence of water, the power distributer box is not supplying power to the computer box and other 3 components. They also suspected that the computer box has blown inside. My insurance declined my claim based on that.
I then lodged a complaint with OSTI where the decision was in favour of the insurer, based on the fact that I did not supply them with pictures to proof that water was in a computer box. My car was brought back to me on the 25 September 2018 on the following condition: Under the bonnet the car was stripped and I do not know what is missing, the passenger window was open, the car windows were not working and car would not lock and unlock, the boot of the could not open, the gear lever cover was also stripped, the dash bosh board of the car was also stripped and the right centre rim cap was missing (See the attached pictures).
I sent an email to Club Motors enquiring about the condition of the car and their response was that they receive the car already stripped and that they only worked on fuse box checking power supply to the DDE. They also indicated that the parts quoted could affect the windows as is electrical. Remember that everything in my car was working except the fact that it will only crank but not start.
Mr Trishen Moodley then advised me to lodge another claim as they cannot tell what happen to the car and the car was under their control. I then lodge another claim where my car was taken to HJ Bosch and Sons, Pretoria Gardens.
Now my insurance is still declining to cover my car, even though they know that my car was tempered with before it can be taken to Club Motors Fountains. I asked Mr Trishen Moodley to at least ensure that my car is in condition it was when they took it (i.e. electric windows , locking and unlocking a car and cranking thereof). Mr Moodle indicated that he is not going to assist me with anything I must just accept my car as it is. I am sitting with a car that was damaged by insurance. This guy by name of Trishen Moodley is rude to such an extend that when call he will inform to come back to me and never did. He even sent an email to the HJ Bosch and Son penal beaters that I must accept the car as it is.
