Installation nightmare

I have recently moved.

I asked Virgin it they could provide me with a TV, Broadband and Phone service. They looked up my address and said yes they could but just to be certain they would send someone out to do a pre-instalation check. They also charged me a £25 deposit.

The pre-instalation check was duly done and I was told that there was no problem, the cables were all in place and that the instalation would proceed a week later.

I received numerous emails and text messages prior to the installation date building up the hype that my service was going to be fantastic and counting down the days.

When the technician arrived to do the instalation he started to mount the cables on the wall and then tried to find the 'Virgin manhole' . At this point he realised there was a problem and called his superior.

A short while later he told us that there was a problem as there was no signal in the cables and left. About a week later another technician came nosing around and said that the cables had been damaged down the road and then went away.

That was over three weeks ago and I have still still had no formal comunication from Virgin to explain to me what has happened, why they are unable to connect me or to appologise for the inconvenience caused by not checking the lines properly for signal in the first place.

In the mean time time I have had no TV, Broadband or phone connection.
