Wouldn’t recommend!!

If I could give minus 10 stars, I would. This experience has been a complete waste of my time and money.

I requested a simple membership downgrade in March because I do not use the international membership benefits or any other gym locations. The gym acknowledged my email and confirmed they could process the change by 30 March (immediate) . On 30 March, I rep**** and explicitly asked them to proceed, and my email was ignored.

Despite this, I was still charged the full membership fee in both April and May.

Throughout April and May, I sent multiple follow-up emails that were ignored. When I eventually called in May, I was told the change had never been processed because I supposedly did not confirm approval in their system… even though I did, and I also had follow-up emails proving I had been trying to resolve the issue for weeks.

They eventually admitted the error, calculated the adjustment and admin fee, and advised that they owed me approximately R190 (against my May fee notwithstanding they overcharged me for two months). However, instead of refunding the money they had overcharged me twice, they said the amount would simply be credited against my next membership fee. Frustrating, but I accepted it as long as the issue was finally fixed regardless of being over charged in April.

Then today in May still, I went to gym and was told I owed them another R97.

How do I owe you money when you already admitted that you owe me? I asked them to explain, and only then was it discovered that the credit had been incorrectly loaded onto the system, making it appear as though I still owed part of the admin fee.

At that point, I couldn’t even continue with my workout. I work hard for my money and have very limited time to train. Instead of being able to focus on my gym session, I spent the time chasing staff to correct their own mistakes — and even then, they still cannot get it right.

What exactly am I paying for? Poor communication, incorrect billing, ignored emails, and endless frustration.
