Worst service I have ever experienced in my life
It is always exciting to waste money, whether it is month to month or a once off payment. My most recent experience is a once off payment. Once they have your money they do not care anymore about the services you are paying for.
This has been my experience at Virgin Active. Empty promises with an account which they still are unable to fix... more than 6 months now! In fact my 12 month contract ends in September of this year, I would not be surprised if this was also incorrect.
My brother, sister and mother took out their contracts the day before I took out mine. While chatting with the sales consultant at Virgin Active Menlyn, where my family took out their contracts, I was told that I would be able to go to any in South Africa gym between the hours of 8am and 5pm. I made the full payment that very day in the gym and received a white card. I was told that it would take a few weeks for the card to be active (allowing me to go into the gym without the people at the counter letting me in).
Weeks went by and my card was still not active, I then spoke to the sales consultant that did my contract and he said I must not worry he will fix my account for me. I went to Keywest gym in Krugersdorp with a few of my friends, after going there a few more times they guys at the counter said that there was something wrong with my card and that he will fix it and asked for my card. At the end of my session I was presented with a new red card and a bunch of documents that he said I must sign. None of which I had signed and I asked for my white card back.
This is around 2 months into my gym contract and still not fixed, or even working. I returned to Menlyn gym to neither of the cards granting me access, where I spoke to the same sales consultant who told me that there was an issue with the capturing of my contract and that I must use the red card to gain access at Menlyn gym and use the white care everywhere else.
At this point my frustration levels were through the roof, each time I wanted to go to the gym I needed to wait 15 minutes before so that they can "fix" my card and then spend 30 to 60 minutes afterwards for them to "fix" my contract/account.
This white card was then taken away from me and I was told that the red card is the one that I need to used. After coming back again a few days later the card still did not work and my sales consultant said he would speak to the managed to fix it (3 months later). He told me he would contact me when it was fixed. I received no contact till January when I went in to gym and had the same issue.
I was also told that the sales consultant no longer works at the Menlyn gym and that my account has been suspended/deactivated due to inactivity. Once again having the most unpleasant experience of waiting more than 2 hours for them to "fix" my account.
I was not willing to waste any more of my time dealing with this issue and only returned a few weeks later. Issue still not resolved, and now learning that I belong to a different gym, one of which I have never heard of before, never been to, and would never go to. This was Virgin Active Watermeyer Park. I asked for the manager so that I could speak to him/her about this issue which had by then been around 6 months of trying to fix my access issues. I also learnt that the white card that I was given at the start of my contract belonged to a different member. I have both card numbers. The manager was not there and I had to fill in a form and was told that I would be contacted.
I am still waiting for the manager to contact me, or anyone to contact me regarding the issue. I will not waste my time going to the gym to try and fix this issue just to be told to come back another day and I refuse to go to a gym club (Watermeyer) I didn't sign a contract at, or that I would of ever signed a contract with.
Out of the 9 odd months of having this contract I have always experienced issues gaining access. I have wasted countless hours trying to solve the issue. I have need **** to constantly. If I had to count how many times I have been able to gym it would be a number near 30.
What am I paying for?
