Wandile Sicetsha, Reza de Greeff & Ignus Oosthuizen - Virgin Active's Undesirables
Uninformed & uncalculated decision-making from Wandile Sicetsha & Reza de Greeff at the Virgin Active Sunningdale Branch combined with a clear disinterest in customer service & communication to members.
The issue of Aqua Fitness class cancellations was directly addressed with Reza de Greeff, Sunningdale Club Manager, who didn't even bother to acknowledge or reply to me. Wandile Sicetsha, the branch's Exercise Experience Manager (EEM) then systematically responded to me, highlighting the low class attendance figures despite me pointing out that he cancelled the classes at the start of Spring.
I met with Wandile at the branch on 3 October 2025 & his reasons for cancelling the classes were: he only took up the role of EEM in July 2025, stats used before arriving at the decision to cancel classes were from January 2025 but most importantly, he was overbudget & immediate cuts needed to be made. I again reiterated the points that numbers for Aqua Fitness classes are higher between Spring & Summer, the members impacted by the cancellations are a vulnerable group consisting of seniors & individuals with mobility restrictions which means the cancellations amount to unfairness & **************.
I then escalated the matter to Ignus Oosthuizen, Regional Group Exercise Manager, via email on 14 November 2025, providing a detailed breakdown of the issue, attaching correspondences but also a petition signed by a considerable amount of members at the branch requesting that the arbitrary decision-making be overturned. This communication also provided Ignus with up to date attendance figures from 13 October to 12 November 2025 - clearly indicating the logical point that I raised with Wandile, rising attendance numbers as we were now in Spring approaching Summer. Ignus only rep**** on 24 November 2025, 10 days later with: "Apologies for only coming back to you. I have connected with the club who is best to discuss club related issues with. We can unfortunately not keep classes on the TT that is not fully attended. Thanks" This is the most pathetic response I've ever seen from someone in a senior management position, him being the Regional Group Exercise Manager considering that I had provided him with stats indicating class attendances hitting up to 115%! I'm not even considering his unprofessionalism in the manner of his reply. His response is also concerning in the sense that when random & unjustified decision making takes place at a branch by *********** staff members, the Regional manager supports that. It's also clear that a culture of little to no communication & lack of customer service exists within this Region based on Ignus's actions or should I say inactions along with Reza & Wandile's. If these are the standards set by leadership, it can come as no surprise when subordinates follow suit.
I'm logging this on Hellopeter with the hope that a competent representative of Virgin Active reaches out because if not, I will continue to escalate the matter.
