Virgin are ????
At the time of my initial activation of my membership with VA Sunninghill. I was in contact with Mpho who said I can make use of the discounted rate with the activation fee of R700, which I paid. He said that if I wanted to continue with the discounted rate via Vitality then I would need to come in and do the forms needed. There was no mention of me having to pay for activation again. Which I reluctantly paid. I then proceeded to use the facilities as usual.
On Tuesday 24 June 2025 I sent through paperwork signed to activate my Vitality membership. Only to discover on Wednesday 25June 2025 I was debited R1200. I spoke to Mpho around 9:30 am and at time he said to me I am the second person to be debited the full R1200 and the the error will be sorted out within 24-48 hours.
By Friday 9:30 I still hadn’t received the refund. I called and spoke with the accounts department and they said they will log a refund which hadn’t been done by Mpho on the Wednesday as he said he would do.
I sent him a text then he only rep**** over an hour later. In it he said that he logged a call and made a follow up with the admin on Friday 27 June 2025.
Why must I chase the money owed to me?
I am now insisting you do the following 1. Refund of the activation fee, which I wasn’t notified about at the time of the initial membership application. 2. Full return of the membership fee of R1200 3. Cancellation of the gym membership contract as the the content wasn’t completely divulged at the time of taking the initial membership.
