Virgin Active’s failure to rectify verbal assault
I have been requesting in emails to cancel my membership (pre-covid) at Virgin Active when I was verbally assaulted by another member in the company of a witness at their Tygervalley branch. I immediately reported this to the manager (relief manager at the time) and nothing was done. I never went to TygerValley again, and think I might have gone to Century City once or twice, but that fear of another assault on my person happening again was unthinkable - why would I want to suffer mentally in a place where I come to relax?
I have written numerous emails to VA and the communication and service platform which you should be providing are not tended to by your personnel - in the continuing battle to have my membership cancelled (i should use the word rebuke by now) when I instructed VA to proceed with the lock-down freeze I mentioned this assault again, and just to find an " email" or "SMS" to day your membership fees will be continuing - strange since i did not give the go-ahead to unfreeze.
To date they failed to act on the request to reimburse me from the time when the assault -based on my ***uality - took placeIt is a pity that the manager did not take this seriously. If he had, he would not have willy-nilly discarded my complaint in writing at the time of the incident with both my signature and that of the person who witnessed the verbal assault.
VA is non-responsive and I want to be re-imbursed in full for the minthly “membership” fees. I dont want to be a member of a club which specializes in body and mind when managers and VA as a whole discriminates based on ***uality…especially when they have big signposts that says VA does not tolerate **************. Sies man
