Virgin Active will ****** you!!

I joined Virgin active gym in Carlswald around 2017/2018 and was a loyal member until I moved from Midrand in 2023. Even then I moved my membership to Victory park and since I had since passed my contract I was now paying on a month to month basis. I eventually moved away from South Africa and called to cancel my membership to which the agent begged me to stay for a few more months incase I come back to Mzansi. I knew I was not coming back but she assured me should I not be back the account would be automatically cancelled after three months (around Jan Feb of 2023). To my surprise this was never done and since then I have been hounded with calls and emails threatening me to pay R570. The funny thing is this year around Feb/ March I went back to virgin active and paid a month to month contract for over 1K. The idiot was me trying to remain loyal to a brand that clearly does not value longterm clients. Suddenly emails from MBD attorney started coming in claiming again I owe money. MBD sent me an encyrpted document I couldnt access and I called and emailed to address this but didnt get anywhere with them. I raised this with Virgin on X and they advised the account has been handed over to their attorneys. So now I must continue receiving threatening emails and have my calls not answered by the attorney while virgin also wont address this with their attorney all for a 570 rand ( which now has gone up to 711 due to interest how is it interest when I cannot access the document). My main question is WHY DID VIRGIN CONTINUE CHARGING DEBIT ORDERS ON A MONTH TO MONTH ACCOUNT and TWO WHY DO YOU KEEP CHARGING WHEN THERE WAS A CALL WITH YOUR CALL CENTER SAYING CANCEL I AM NOT COMING BACK?

I will never gym with virgin again and I will make sure noone in my family does
