Virgin Active South Africa - So Cold Hearted!

<p>I had to cancel my mebership with Virgin Active well before time, due to ill health. This was after collapsing at their Bloemfontein structures and was rushed to a doctor who confirmed that my iron levels were extremely low. Medical certificates were sent to Virgin Active Head Office - Cape Town. Looks like they never cared to action the request for cancellation. I then started receiving calls and sms, demamding payment. They insisted I still owe R4400 for early cancellation, despite sending them my Doctor's letters over and over again. They have now handed my account to some MBD inc, for collection. Those ones are doing a pretty job harrassing me with calls, and I think they have little or no respect for customers. While I am battling with my illhealth, Virgin Active is concerned with squeezing some money out of me. I did not opt out because I was migrating to some fancy country somewhere, it is due to ill health. How caring could that be? Do I really have to pay the cancellation fee even though I have a valid reason to leave gym? The first cancellation, for the dame reason, was done free of charge. six months later, I rejoined, only to discover that I am still weak. their next move would be to negatively list me, especially after seeing that I have taken them to HelloPeter.</p>
