Virgin Active South Africa

I canceled my membership with virgin active South Africa in June 2020 when the gyms were closed and in this period our memberships were frozen i sent an email. Then in December i received a call saying i owe R497,00. I explained that i sent an email and the lady didn't even care to check for my emails she says i must pay the amount. As far as i am concerned i don't owe virgin active anything. I never visited the gym ever since lockdown
