VIRGIN ACTIVE shocking customer service
Joined virgin active Tableview Cape Town in Feb 24, specifically asked at the time what was the cancellation policy and was told 1 months notice. After 5 months I decided the gym was not for me, in MY opinion there are too many members, waiting time for equipment is too long, members don't abide by rules, no body manages the floor etc etc. So I decided to cancel and was asked to pay over R1600 to do so, what happened to the 1 months notice? I was then referred to the T&Cs in the contract which VA never actually sent to me! When questioningbthis I was advised that they only send contracts if members ask for them! How ludicrous, you sign a contract are bound by their T&C's yest they don't share them with you! I cancelled my membership, paid the fee last month only to be debited again today after cancelling the debit order in writing with their HQ at the time of cancellation. The HQ refereed me back to the GM at the gym in question and said he would call me as it was a gym issue and not HQ! It seems HQ condone the fact that members are not sent contracts which I am sure is against statutory rights and consumer protection! When I asked for the GM's name, the customer service manager Tarron at HQ did not know it! I sm not surprised to say I am still awaiting g the call from the mystery GM! Shocking customer service from 'robots' at HQ who do not respond timeously to complaints and their solution besides the 'non follow call' was to reduce the membership fee for 3 months!!!
