Virgin Active Old Ed: below any average expectations.
Once again, VA seems reluctant to impress me at least. I had a terrible experience with VA when decided in 2015 to rejoin the club (was member in CT Dec '19 to Jan '15), however my relocation to JNB sounded a mission since whoever answered that call at Old Ed club had learned one single blocking answer "no free pass and you must join"?. Five year since (well was great hospitality from Viva Gym; all family my were gyming there since) I've met this nice VA lady (Gloria) and she was upset from my experience with telephonic service from Old Ed, she offered (with humbling) Day Pass for me and the wife. We went today, and I wished I've never went!! Despite the fact that our info were submitted in advance (as per my understanding from the Gloria) we had to stand at the gate for almost 20+ min? We literally felt like we are at J.F.K airport passport control than VA reception. I may understand the necessity to upload info so people can't abuse day passes but this was not right. The welcome, the handling and the al***** invitation, all were below our expectations. They could've simply take the info cards that we completed and signed, allowed us to gym instead of standing out of the gate with less explanation to why all such delay. Thanks to Gloria (she was the reason why I decided to give it a chance; super woman) and also we thank the shying Flo whom tried to do the best to absorb my anger, it was too late though. Gloria and Flo did exactly a superb job, but it seems the VA red tapes are still going on. Great news for our Viva gym, they've never let us down even when we asked for Day Passed for our overseas friends, they were offered on-site with few seconds registration (name and cell phone). VA, really really bad experience and I can't think of anything but wish you the best (won't be enough if you keep your system like this). People whom complaint are the true story to listen to. Bye.
