Virgin Active is a ******** people

Virgin Active was running a special. Basically, if you are below the age of 26 you qualified for a 2 YEAR contract paying R499 for international membership. So I got the contract when I turned 25 and 1 year into the contract I turned 26 but the contract still had 12 months to go. All of a sudden my premium shot up to R890 and when I enquired I was told that was part of the contract which was very different to what the sales person had told me. I was told that - I will be paying R499 for 2 YEARS. To put this into context, if I took that contract a month before I turned 26 I would have paid R499 for one month and then have to pay R890 for 23 months, which I feel is important information I should have been made aware of. The sales person didn't act in good faith and just cared about locking me in a contract.

So I asked to cancel the contract on the 11th of January 2020 and I was told I had to pay a cancelation fee of R890*2 which I had a no problem with. What's irritating me is that I have to pay for the February debit order as well because apparently I canceled late, like ***. I canceled on the 11th of January.
