VIRGIN ACTIVE Debt trap

Good day

I am taking this opportunity to reflect on a very bad experience I am having with Virgin Active.

Having worked for Virgin Active before I am in a very good position to comment on the current lack of customer centric behaviour shown by Consultants and Manager's on Duty in general and I can see this kind of behaviour patterns causing Virgin Active serious losses going forward,if not rectified of course.

A friend of mine invited me to go to Virgin Active with her since she was convinced that once I experience the Virgin Acive way of doing things in Tygervalley, I would be convinced that joining is the right thing for me to do since I was already a member of the competition.

When I arrived at the Tygervalley branch,I was greeted by a receptionist who advised me correctly that I had visited before and the only way I could join my friend in the gym was to sign up for what I now believe is a way to get clients into a debt trap....a mini memebrship/evaluation type of trap!!

The consultant on duty,Chad, advised me to sign up for a trial run that I could cancell within 9 days if required....that was the total amount of days I had to cancel before the contract became effective on a permanent level.
At this point I was already 30 minutes late for my workout session with my friend who was now already close to finishing...the consultant,Chad, got done with the signing of the debt trap and then I requested to meet the Manager on Duty since I needed to know who was in charge that day.The consultant,Chad, went to the Manager on Duty's office to advise the Manager on Duty that I requested to quickly meet him but he declined...when I enquired of the consultant if the Manager on Duty(the consultant advised it to be a Mr.Shaun Wise) was busy he clearly indicated that the Manager on Duty was not doing anything in his office and that he did not want to meet me(CLEARLY ****** BEHAVIOUR) as I am a black man.I then requested that Chad advise the Manager on Duty,Mr Shaun Wise, that I realy needed to meet him quickly.....he went to enquire but the Manager on Duty declined again for no good reason and Chad confirmed Shaun Wise was doing nothing...I am very dissappointed with this matter to this day....(M.O.D)Shaun Wise .....I am very dissappointed.

On the seventh day I decided to cancell the contract as I was still upset with the bad treatment at the hands of the Manager on duty that day and did not want to associate with a brand that treats clients like dirt.I then went to the nearest Virgin Active at Cape Gate as I had a health issue that prevented me from going to Tygervalley...I then spoke to a consultant at the Cape Gate branch named Alvin who in turn called head office and spoke to a very disinterested lady who advised that I MUST go to the Tygervalley branch to speak to them as Cape Gate staff were not able to say anything/did not know anything. At this point I got very frustrlated that no one seemed able to assist me with cancellation.....the next day I forced myself to drive to Tygervalley and met with Chad, the original consultant and requested cancellation.Pleae note that I have been diagnosed with a brain injury, ptsd, anxiety and depression and don't need this running around in my life as it makes matter worse for me!!.

At this point Chad advised that the contract must be cancelled within five days otherwise it AUTOMATICALLY becomes enforced!!!....debt trap here....hellllooo!!!!
Are you guys so desperate that you would try to catch any client any way you can to sign up permanently??? And dont give me the story about making it easier for clients who want to sign up...that does not fly with me!!!!!!!.You are merely tying victims up with contracts they dont want and or need.!!

Then Chad told me that he appologises if he made a mistake in explaining the terms of the contract to me and that I now had to take the matter up with management...mangement who could not even be bothered to meet me when I signed up for the 9 day debt trap!!!! I don't think so.Obviously this happens every day at your friendly Virgin Active gym.

Anyway,I now owe five thousand for a debt trap that needs to be cancelled by yourselves since your consultant grossly negelcted his duties in telling me what the real contract terms are....5 days not 8 or 9 or ten....... I will accept an official letter of apology and a complimentary national membership for twelve months to rectify the mistakes Virgin Active staff made, then I will of course continue my membership should I deem the service rendered by Virgin Active acceptable for myself.I am recommending this as I want to be a Virgin Active member, but on my terms,,,,,get your act together please....my bank account details, address were also recorded incorrectly....
ai tog!!!

This appalling behaviour by Virgin Active staff can be rectified by implementing a proper incentive system as everything nowadays is driven by money.....even the reception staff at your flagship gym,Constantia, dont know what they are selling or have to sell on any given Sunday....come now Virgin Active S.A....you are better than this!!!

Johaar Jacobs
my e mail for te reply/apology: ********** />my cell: ********** 793 / ********** 333

ps I am launching this on Hello Peter and then referring to the ombudsman and of cousre my Facebook profile and company website/social media and as for the details of the complimentary national membership issued.,,,please respond urgently as the account is to be written off and the proper collections people advised....thanking you.
