Virgin Active contract cancellation is a nightmare but to join is very easy. Don't join VA

Virgin active contracts cancellation department is a nightmare, there is a lot of inconsistencies, I don't know if it personnel incompetency or their policies are just ****. so I tried to cancel my membership and the lady on the phone says it'll cost me 40% and they will deduct this money right away so I need to have this money on my account. She confirms my banking details and says this amount will now be deducted from my account, so I tell her to go ahead with the debit order. The debit order did not go through but what I did go was a debit order for my monthly premium. So today I call and they are singing a different tune, now it takes 24hr for the debit order to go through. There is no transparency what so ever, I wouldn't advise anyone to join Virgine Active. The free water bottle is not worth the ****ty service they give to their customer. At the time of writing this post, it has been 24 hours since logged a call to cancel my membership and it's still not canceled. I will just wait another 24 hours and if my membership is not canceled I will go reverse the debit order and open a case against them.
