Virgin Active committed *****

I am a virgin active member for 9 years, since school someone else has been respinsible for paying my account, this person had a problem with their account so,

One month I went to the club to pay cash for the month (with a debit card) so that I did not potentially run into problems. Instead of swiping for the month, they decided create a new debit order, using the account number on the front of my card for double the amount (in other words 2 months of membership in one debit order)

I only realised this 2 weeks later when I got a notification from my bank saying that a debit order went through, which is strange because I dont have any debit orders go through on my savings account

I find out its from virgin active and realised that someone at the club obtained my account number because it is written on my card (the account number is visible on capitec cards) in small print. They processed a debit order for 2 months a once without my consent, or without informing me that they were doing this

I called head office to report this. Some indian person in admin, who refused to give me his name, kept me on the phone for a half hour and then made me hold for another half hour after it took me 20min to get through to someone. He told me I was mistaken there was no debit order, I must have gotten a delayed message.

I went to my bank to confirm it was true, there was a debit order created, and it was not equivalent to 2 months of gym fee.

I also went to the gym and they said that it was the timing I paid, that caused them to charge me for that month and the previous month. Still no permission granted, or reason given for the debit order

I call head office again, someone by the name of Chantal says, they did not commit *****, I gave them my account number, which was not true.

Meanwhile, my mother continues her debit orders going off to virgin active as normal, the 20th of the month. So considering the *******ity of the debit order, knowing full well someone else is paying the account I cancel the debit order.

Now virgin active calls me and says a debit order returned; I owe them that money

I had been calling for a week trying to get through to a manager. And rather than apologise, or provide an explanation for what they did. They still expect me to pay that debit order while someone else has paid it.

This is *****, I threatened to report virgin active. Now they are asking for my account number again via email in case they need evidence to say I gave them permission. I wont be sending any account details, but I will be reporting them

This person called Chantal, also promised me a free month for the inconvenience, this did not happen. And they still expect the payee to pay as normal, and me to pay them in excess. ******!
