VIRGIN ACTIVE - BAD SERVICE
My name is Saltiel,
i have had the most abysmal service from VIrgin Active, in 2014 after my membership had expired owing to not meeting required annual vitality visits i went to reinstate my membership with virgin active centurion - next to Makro. i was assisted by a consultant whom everyone referred to as 'Mr K' , i had the 1200 joining fee with me & Mr K convinced that it would be in my best interest to sign for the normal membership & my vitality would kick in by the end of the month something which would render the first month free and i would just have to pay a minimum joining fee for that month.
by the end of the month i kept following up w.r.t the conversion of my membership to vitality & was sent from pillar to post. it later emerged that 'Mr K' was dismissed for similar transgressions - efficient handling of member accounts.
i kept following up on the matter even after his departure & was referred to a Mr Albert Terreblanche whom i can just says displayed sheer arrogance instead of showing willingness to amicably resolve my matter. i explained my matter to him & he asked me of written confirmation of my discussions with Mr K.
he then responded with the following - I see that this was mentioned to you on a couple of occasions in 2014 when you spoke to our call centre agents and to staff at the club.
In conclusion, and as a service gesture we can write off one month from the arrears amount (R 485.00) leaving you to pay R 970.00. Should you want to convert to a Vitality membership you will have to pay the once of joining fee of R 1370.00 after which you qualify for up to 80% discount on your monthly fee.
Please note that the arrears need to be settled first before any new membership agreement can be entered into.
i find this response very worrying as my assertions on the matter were completely ignored, a virgin active employee handled my account in an adverse manner & i fail to understand why i should have a cost implication. service of this nature is unheard of in his day & age. Mr Terreblanche failed to acknowledge the disturbing paralysis of intent from his team with regards to resolving this matter & there's no ownership on his part.
despite having visited the gym & calling their call center a couple of times this matter remain unresolved to this day.
i'm in the process of rejoining the gym & have just discovered that there are arrears in my name still & i was met by the same response where head office offered me a 50% discount on the arrears. as a matter of principle i'm still not comfortable with accepting a financial loss caused by their mistake.
i refuse to be associated with a bad service,
