VIRGIN ACTIVE ARE THEIVES

My wife and I are very disappointed with the manner in which she was addressed of non payment by virgin active. She phoned Virgin and terminated her contract over the phone providing them with enough time to end it which happened almost a year ago. She did not receive any notice regarding the termination of her account or that she had any outstanding balances, however, I received an sms last week from a debt collector - VVM Debt Collectors that my wife was involved in a legal matter and need to call them. Which we did and the next thing she received an email from the debt collector - VVM Debt Collectors stating that she owes them R463.84 that included a Final Receipting Fee of R 47.84. I am very disappointed and believe that this is absolutely unprofessional in the manner in which this is being dealt with. She does not owe Virgin any money because if she did she should have been contacted by them directly and she will not be paying Virgin or the debt collector any money. If this affects her credit rating in any way I will be taking legal action against Virgin and VVM Debt collectors. I want Virgin to contact me and explain the purpose of this outstanding amount. I would also like for them to send me a formal apology regarding this matter with a paid up letter.
