Virgin Active Active hands minor over to lawyers - They deserve a no star rating!!!!!

They deserve a no star rating!!!!!!!! I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Virgin Active regarding a billing issue. More than a year ago, on March 10, 2023, I requested the cancellation of my membership to which my daughter was linked. I paid the cancellation fee of R2010 as advised. This year 2024 we intended to link my daughter to my husband’s membership, only to find out that her account was in arrears by R189 and had been handed over to a legal team. This was shocking and upsetting, as a young child has nothing to do with this situation. Despite my cancellation request submitted to Virgin active, a debit order was processed at the end of March 2023, which I immediately raised a complaint about. I was assured the issue would be resolved, yet I have not received any refund to date. I find this incredibly frustrating, especially considering that my membership cancellation was submitted before April 2023—the month Virgin Active claims a payment was missed or stopped to which my daughter owes. To add to the confusion, when I called today 06/11/2024(more than a year ago), I was informed that there is a credit on my account. They offered to transfer this credit to clear the amount on my daughter’s account, but I feel this merely highlights the poor handling of accounts by Virgin Active's finance department. This experience has left me frustrated and dissatisfied. I urge Virgin Active to address these issues with their billing and finance processes to provide a better experience for members.
