VA Cape Gate: Frustrated Disgruntled and Disappointed!
Frustrated and disappointed in Virgin Active Cape Gate! Even though the equipment was "upgraded" last year the space is wasted and the change rooms, showers, steam rooms and sauna, and some of the equipment a constantly broken. Not to mention the clocks! OMW! Want specifics... I have asked nicely on almost a daily basis that clocks be places in the mens change rooms. Sitting in the sauna or steam room we time ourselves how long we spend inside... not only to ensure I make optimal use of my relaxation time, but also Not to be late for work or appointments. Before both were taken away in beginning December 2024 they were always running behind by 30 min to an hour. When I ask when they will be fixed... which tool 3 months the last time and 6 months prior to that they just said a complaint has been logged and they are waiting either for it to be fixed or get new ones. Seriously! I'm at the point to buy you guys a new one for R125 because I use my cellphone now... leaving it outside with the stopwatch on.. constantly checking if it is still there and not ******. This is becoming rediculous. You said you upgraded the shower area... still wish to see where exactly!?! Half of the showers are so low in pressure that you are standing twice as long just to get the soap off you. And over weekends amd by mid-week the water is luke warm to cold.... irrelevant of the time of day. The sauna door keeps getting stuck and then fixed... and after a week... stuck again. This has been going on for a year now. The sauna's water outlet is broken and I even fixed it myself at one stage just to find it broken afer a month again. So I gave up. The aircons in the changerooms don't work and in summer, being on the lower ground it becomes stuffy and smelly all round. The scale is also broken and fixed... just get a new one PLEASE! Two of the toilets are forever running if not pressed twice to help the flusher pop back up... and even those are broken! The lockers smell of mold! On the machine side... the rowing machines are forever broken and even now one has been in for repairs for over two weeks... people ***** and moan in the saunas and steam room and I don't see management doing anything about it! The new machines are so bulky and big... seriously! One machine is as big as my double bed... and that's just for legs... and there are THREE of them! Go back to basics! Rather get another cable fly machine... there's always a queue and only the intimidating regular body builders get to use them as they line up for it. I haven't been able to use it once in the last 2 years. Starting asking us, your clients what we need instead of guessing. 4 of the other machines were broken for almost a month... elliptical machine, stepper, etc. Instead of fixing them... replace them! The machines are OLD! When compared to Constantia and N1 City and Canalwalk's gyms, Cape Gate is actually becoming a disgrace. Even Paarl looks like a beter option to drive out for... and Cape Gate's is supposed to be a flagship of yours. There's hardly any yoga sessions taking place early in the mornings before work and the swimming is also always packed with elderly or children during peak times so I don't even know why I bother taking my swimming gear with anymore. Get your avt together as I already know of 8 people who are leaving you this month. Oooo... and the saune water supply not hourglass timer doesn't work either. Come on! I know you can do better... and yet... our rates just go up every year... making me even more disgruntled. Shame on you! Today I just had enough.
