Called head office, cancelled my membership, made an immediate payment for cancelation fee and only found out afterwards I still need to pay for the following month. Called the Team Leader of Collections (Ronel), who then told me that everything is fine and they would not debit me again. Promised me that she'd send me an email confirming this - never happened of course. Needless to say, they debited me AGAIN. Calling in is a mission on it's own because if the consultant can't explain why they catch on ****, they drop the line or leave you on mute until you drop. Or the classic is "Sorry, Ronel is out for the day," after I was told she'd contact me before the end of the day. I've been going back and forth with this place and I've officially had it with them. I understand now why everyone prefers Planet Fitness. If I had to choose between looking like a whale and having anything to do with Virgin Active, I'd happily embrace the salt.
