Unhappy customer fausley advertising

Virgin Active – do you know what consumer protection act is ? let me explain this concept to you – it is to keep consumers protected against companies that falsely advertise specials, sales or promotions. I can’t believe a big company like Virgin has no respect for a member and can blatantly ignore a customer.

I joined your Gym in December 2016 after seeing your advert on Facebook & TV – come join the gym and get up to R1500 cash back – Great , so I went into Waterstone Village gym , asked about the promotion and got told If I join and my daughter I will get R1250 cash back and I won’t pay the first month instalment I’ll only pay in Feb.

the sales assistant even went to his manager and double checked and came back to guarantee me the money and when leaving said “give me a call if you don’t get your money, but give us till middle Jan”

Well well well – I contacted in the middle of Jan when I realised that not only had I not received my money but I also paid the instalment which I got told I wouldn’t, Virgin gave me the run around and told me to contact my medical aid as that is their problem, and the cash back I’ll get paid out that week –

Phoned the Medical aid – only for them to tell me that they didn’t know about the promotion and will contact Virgin head office for clarity.

They phoned back a week later to tell me Virgin messed up and that Momentum was not included in the payment break – but this was not told to me when I joined – I was Guaranteed the deal.

Go to end January I went into the gym to speak to the sales consultant , he assured me there was a mess up from head office and they are taking down all the issues and someone will get back to me.

Now to the 8th Feb , and I phone Waterstone virgin again and now to be told by the same sales assistant , that they were told about the promotion incorrectly and there isn’t cash back its money off the instalment for the year- but yet I have still paid the same amount for 2 instalments. “The communication from head office was given incorrectly “– and in his words , “you are not the only customer that’s upset, this is a massive issue”- I gave Virgin 24 hours to get back to me from head office, someone that could answer my questions and if no one does I am going to social media, CPA council and making sure my story gets told. It isn’t my fault your training and implementation was not correct, what I was sold is what I want- don’t leave me in the dark and let your sales guy take the fall.
