Unacceptable Conduct by Personal Trainer at Virgin Active Montana

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding unacceptable and unprofessional conduct by a personal trainer by the name Sipho at Virgin Active Montana.

On 15/04/2026 at approximately 6:00 am, I approached the incline barbell bench press station with the intention of using it. At the time, the bench was not in use by any individual. However, the trainer in question was running a group session with approximately five clients, rotating them across multiple pieces of equipment as part of a superset routine.

Despite the equipment being unoccupied, I was informed that I would need to wait for all five clients to complete their respective sets before I could use the bench. This effectively meant that one group was monopolizing the equipment, to the exclusion of other paying members.

When I challenged this, the trainer responded in a dismissive and disrespectful manner. He stated that I would need to “ask him nicely” if I wanted access to the equipment, and suggested that I must just wait for all five clients to complete their respective sets.

This conduct is unacceptable. It demonstrates:

A blatant disregard for basic gym etiquette and shared access to equipment

Poor judgment in managing multiple clients within a shared training environment

Disrespectful and unprofessional communication toward a member

As a paying member, I am entitled to fair and reasonable access to gym equipment without being subjected to this kind of behavior.

I expect this matter to be taken seriously and formally addressed. Specifically, I request:

A full investigation into the incident

Appropriate corrective or disciplinary action taken with the trainer involved

Clear enforcement of policies preventing trainers from monopolizing equipment with group sessions.
