Terrible attitude from Ian
My family and I decided to join the gym early 2016. We then took a 12 month membership and started gyming right away. A few months later we received fantastic new that our family of 4 was expanding. We were all extremely overjoyed. I then had some complications and was not able to continue gyming. Early 2017 i went to the gym to ensure my gym membership was cancelled after the 12 months when they told me I had a 24 month gym membership. How strange was that. My husband and 2 kids all have 12 month contracts and I'm the only one with a 24 month contract. Shortly after that I had my beautiful baby and life was way too busy to fight with the gym. Just before returning to work (mid September 2017) I went to the gym and showed them I had proof I only took a 12 month gym membership. I had found a receipt showing my name, ID number, membership number and a space clearly reflecting it was a one year membership. I was speaking to a gentleman by the name of Ian at the canal walk virgin active. He was very arrogant and kept speaking to me in a very derogatory manner. He kept saying it doesn't matter what my receipt reflects all that matters is what is said on my gym contract that I signed. He said nothing will hold up in court because they have a signed contract that stipulates i took a 24 month membership. He promised that he would investigate the matter and call me. Up until today I have heard nothing from Virgin active and they continue to debit my account each month although my 12 months was complete in March 2017.
How terrible is that. I will never recommend this gym to any loyal or decent customers.
Disgusted!
