Termination of Contract

1) I made inquiries about terminating my contract because I no longer have the means to pay the monthly contract fee. I was told two things: a) I would have to pay a cancellation fee of 40 % of the remainder of my contract. b) On the first year anniversary date (i.e. before the 24 month contract is due for renewal) my contract fee will be increased from R580 to R700 per month. I explained that I do not have R3016 available to me as a lump sum, and that the banks would not lend me the money as I do not qualify for a load because I do not have a job. I therefore asked if I could settle this amount over time. The answer was a categorical NO. 2) I asked if they would remove my debit order so that I could pay manually, and they refused, saying that I am bound by a contract to pay that amount by debit order every month. I do not have a job and my domestic circumstances have changed, leaving me without the means to cover my basic living expenses. I am unable to buy food this month. Please assist.
