SYSTEMS DOWN, TERRIBLE SERVICE & PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
I have been very disappointed in Virgin Active over the past couple of months. Their systems ALWAYS seem to be down. When I activated my Vitality a few months ago, my card showed 'payment outstanding' for the next 2 months, even though I DID pay. I did report it to the receptionist/manager and they checked on my account, and it was paid up to date. Needless to say, I had to go through this explanation EVERY time I went for almost 2 months, despite reporting it every time and sending proof of payments to Fores**** VA. That's the problem with VA, requests from members land up on someone's desk and you are nothing but a number to them.
Activating the vitality, the system was down and we had to do it manually.
I wanted to freeze my contract today, and the system was down so had to do it manually AGAIN.
I tried to change my membership via the app, but the system was down again, surprise surprise.
On top of the terrible service, I was told that I cannot freeze my contract whilst on Vitality, which no one informed me of, so if I want to freeze my membership, I have to cancel vitality and still pay 30% of R 1 345.00, that is R 400 per month without even using or entering the gym once, which is simply ridiculous.
The permanent employees of VA...............no matter which club you go to seem to be unwilling or unable to assist with anything. The personal trainers of VA, in general, are of very poor quality compared to other smaller gyms.
VA should stop being a greedy corporate and provide better service to its members. It is clear that they get cheap labour in order to cut costs and maximise their profits.
