Still taking money off even when the contract has been cancelled

I was a member of Virgin Active Meyersdal for years. I cancelled my account in December 2023 and went back 3 times to confirm if it was cancelled and I was told it was cancelled every single time I asked. We are now in July of 2024 and they have been taking +-R400 off my bank account every single month. They are a ****. I would not recommend going the gym as they are quick to take money off your account but when it comes time to return or cancel anything it's an issue. I will never set foot in this virgin active or any other virgin active ever again.
