Shocked and Heartbroken – Theft at Virgin Active Bel Air

On Friday, 31 October 2025, my laptop and cell phone were ****** from a locked locker at Virgin Active Bel Air. I reported it immediately and was told the footage would be reviewed, yet I have received no feedback or support since.

What’s truly shocking is that several witnesses, including myself and the reception staff, recognized a woman seen at the gym that day. Her picture had been circulated by Virgin Active Honeydew after she was reportedly involved in a similar locker theft and banned from that branch. Somehow, she managed to obtain another access card and continue entering other gyms including Bel Air.

This is not an isolated case; there have been multiple similar incidents across Virgin Active gyms in South Africa. In my case, the ******* even accessed my phone and emptied my bank account. Despite this, Virgin Active has shown no urgency, care, or accountability...only pointing to a policy that absolves them of responsibility.

I am absolutely heartbroken and deeply disappointed. Members trust Virgin Active with their safety, yet it feels like nothing is being done to protect us.
