****? Poor service, Zero professionalism

I signed up in December 2016 at the Virgin Claremont, I had to pay R1500 cash initially. After Jan 2017, I would receive R500 cask back as part of the 'special'. The first deposit for the contract was to go through in Jan. No problem.

By 3 Jan 2017, i started receiving messages from Virgin Active saying my account was in arrears. I found it extremely strange, queried it with Virgin and my bank who said no debit orders came through from the gym. Hence, the first debit failed. I went to the gym to pay cash and resilve the issue.

The sales assitant who signed me up in December had used another persons bank details when he filled in my application form. Now, because the first debit failed, they refuse to pay back the inital R500 owing to me. I have sent countless emails and made a million calls. The gym's only responce is that i do not qualify for my cash back, amongst a plethora of excuses. I made it clear that if the sales assistant made an error that is absolutely ok, as we all make mistakes.

The gym has dealt with this in the worst possible manner. What red flags this even more is that when I went to my bank in early Jan to resolve the issue the bank manager told me another Virgin customer was there a week earlier with the same issue.

It now a matter of principle and customer service. Virgin Active have proven to have ZERO on both fronts.
