Refusing to cancel contract

Virgin Active are refusing to cancel my son's contract. We have made numerous phone calls and sent e-mails to cancel the contract, as he has now relocated to Europe. Every time we query as to how to cancel the contract we are told something else: phone head office, send us an e-mail, come and fill in the form etc.

The administration staff think it very funny when you state to them that refusing to cancel the contract as requested and continuing to enforce a debit order is ********. Suppose they think that contract law and the consumer act do not apply to them. Needless to say they simply shrug and say: :\Sure he must just come and fill in the form". All the way from Europe?! Why were we told 3 months ago to \""just send us an e-mail with your request to cancel\""? \""Oh"
