refusal to make a payment arrangement

I have been with virgin active for over 5 years, ran in to financial trouble, im in arrears with them, i want to be joining through discovery vitality but they want me to PAY R2500 first, before i can aside from the discovery joining fee, i tried to make an arrangement to pay they say no i must it all at once first, after all these years they couldve helped me out, not im forced to join planet fitness which is inconvenient, travelling wise.

Come on virgin you could have atleast let me pay the arrears off and then i can join through discovery health today still
