Reduction in studio capacity with increase in membership

In 2025, RHK underwent a club refurbishment, during which the studio space was reduced. On 24 January 2026, I attended a kickboxing class in this studio—one of RHK’s most popular Saturday sessions. As anticipated, the class was overcrowded, further compounded by the influx of new members who have recently joined the gym. The ventilation was inadequate, creating an uncomfortably hot and humid environment. Several participants fell during the session, and the instructor was compelled to end the class early due to safety concerns.

It is deeply concerning that RHK has reduced studio capacity while continuing to recruit new members, without making adequate provisions to accommodate the growing membership base. Moreover, I have learned that members’ complaints were met with a hostile and dismissive response from club management, instructing them to change clubs if dissatisfied. Such an approach raises serious concerns about member safety, satisfaction, and the overall management culture at RHK.
