Re-Joining fees: Concessions and CPU compliance

I've been a loyal member of Virgin for many years. This year my partner& I joined Virgin & repaid joining fees at the beginning of the year as we merged medical aid benefits & I became his Adult Dependent/Spouse via Discovery.Unfortunately during the course of the year, his employer made the decision to switch to Momentum, which was compulsory for all at his company. We paid joining fees of R750 yet again (understandably) to rejoin Virgin Active under Momentum Multiply benefits. At the end of the following month, my spouse then resigned and the new company he works for signed us all up on Discovery. We were informed that because we were past members, we wouldnt pay membership fee's so long as we didn't wait more than a month to do so and off we went within 2 weeks of rejoining Discovery to sign up at Virgin. We decided to sign on our children as well. On arrival we were told that the rejoining fee still app**** and it would be at double the cost of the initial R750 per month fee - now sitting at R1330PP! That's a cost of almost R3000 excluding the kids.Call centre and Discovery reverting with \company policy

Hello Tanith,

I have tried to touch base with you via your mobile phone but to no avail.

On behalf of Virgin Active I would like to apologise for any inconvenience and frustration caused.

The activation fees are requirements put in place by the Corporate which in this case is Vitality. This fee basically activates your reward that gives you the discounted rate with Virgin Active.

Please look out for my email providing you with further feedback in relation to your specific concern.

Kindest regards
Robyn
