Racial Mistreat at Virgin Active Ballito

I am a 30 year old black citizen who values a healthy lifestyle and just over 3 years ago, out of excitement I took a national club membership with virgin active because I had heard that a branch was to be opened near where I live. Since then 2014 September I have been training at this Ballito Club and enjoying. For the reason that me and 3 other non black lift club members live in Ballito, we approached management at the club over 2 years ago and requested to use their premises to park 3 of our cars during the day at the club whilst only one took us to Mandeni (50 km' s north) as per lift club agreement and were verbally told that it was fine as long as we accept that we do that at our own risk. This was convenient for us because some of us trained at this club in the morning and some in the afternoon.

Just recently I received a not on my windscreen written by hand saying that "next time I was seen parking, my wheels would be clamped". When I enquired, it supposedly came from a new Operations Personnel by the name of Suvina. Besides the fact that this was really not a dignified way to tell a member who pays 20 rand shot of R800 rand per month to no longer use the premises; I was deeply hurt when my lift club members (2 white and 1 indian) told me that I am the only one who was given that letter.

It really hurts my feelings that at this day in 2017 we still get ************** based on race at such highly regarded facilities. I am fine with being told not to use premises anymore but to get to a point whereby, I get kicked out as if I stole the facility and not even get given a courtesy phone call until I countlessly request to be phoned back. It went to a point whereby this lady told me that "this is not a shopping center". It really saddens me that Virgin Active being such a good company, it allows such employees to demean black customer in such a way and basically treat us like we matter less than white or indian customers.

While I refrain from parking (before my car gets clamped in this club's free parking, I really hope that this gets investigated and these kinds of people are detached from our gym clubs as they are tarnishing the name that the brand has built so well over so many years.
